Project Thousand Homes for Bicol

Project THB is a partnership between Operation Compassion, Purpose-Driven Southeast Asia, PLDT-Smart Foundation, and the Saddleback Church. Its purpose is to provide shelter, livelihood, and community services to at least a thousand families in Albay. It is a long-term commitment to walk alongside with these families until they are transformed into a new community where people live out the true essence of the bayanihan spirit, taking on a progressive attitude towards community welfare -- empowered, productive, good stewards of the naton's resources, with a strong love of God and country.

The Learning Tree@Project THB

The Learning Tree (TLT) is a private Christian grade and high school. The graduating class of The Learning Tree has taken it upon themselves to adopt at least one family in Bicol, raising funds in order to do so. Through tProject THB, the TLT class exercises the values they learned in school. As future leaders of the country, they are given the opportunity to serve others. The activity will definitely leave a lasting impact on their lives -- a legacy that will last a lifetime.

Project THB seeks to:

  • Provide homes to 1,000 families in 40 months
  • Manage psycho-social therapy for disaster victims
  • Organize medical missions
  • Run leadership skills training sessions
  • Teach entrepreneurial skills
  • Conduct Bible studies
